International Petanque Tournament of Lafayette
Alliance Française de Lafayette members and visitors had a blast March 17 and 18, 2012 !
Bernard Champey, multiple Boule Lyonnaise champion, helped us for the teams and the rules.
On Saturday, March 17, we had 14 children mainly thanks to Les Amis de L’immersion, a parent teacher organization for French immersion students in Lafayette Parish Schools.
On Sunday, March 18, we had the adult competition with 24 teams ! 12 people came from Seattle and Texas and we had also people from Belgium and France.
We have three petanque courts built in the French provincial fashion. The third one was inaugurated March 19, 2011 by the Mayor Joey Durel.
